Llanishen
Set on the edge of the Wye Valley in the beautiful rolling Monmouthshire hills, the bees enjoy the rich forage of Crumbland woods with its native trees and bluebells, hedgerows bursting with brambles and hawthorn, farmland stretching across the neighbouring hamlets and a well established Perry orchard at Great Crumbland Farm.
Penallt
Nestled on the banks of the beautiful River Wye in a secluded, sunny glade, the bees enjoy the abundant land and water-loving flora: Acres of hazel, willow and lime, bountiful hedgerows and orchards, banks full of balsam and water mint, and just a short flight up the hill, the ancient hay meadows at Pentwyn Farm Wildlife Trust are covered in red clover, knapweed and cat's ear dandelions.
Raglan
Tucked away in the grounds of Bryngwyn Manor, the bees are lucky enough to enjoy 3 acres of pollinator gardens right on their doorstep, abundant with bee-friendly flora. Further afield, they are surrounded by the Clytha Estate, full of native trees, clover meadows and hedgerows, as well as the nearby Coed y Bwnydd Woods, and the sweet chestnut and lime groves on Clytha Hill.
St Arvans
On the sunny slopes above St Arvans, in a young and thriving orchard, the bees are surrounded by acres of native woodland, fields covered with dandelions and clover, hedgerows full of hawthorn and brambles, and swathes of willowherb. Better still, just a short flight down to the river, they can forage along banks full of balsam and comfrey and enjoy a much needed drink!
